Leviticus 25:1~22 The Seventh Year (Also in Deuteronomy 15.1-11)

1 When Moses was on Mount Sinai, the LORD told him 2to say to the community of Israel:
After you enter the land that I am giving you, it must be allowed to rest one year out of every seven. 3You may raise grain and grapes for six years, 4but the seventh year you must let your fields and vineyards rest in honor of me, your LORD. 5This is to be a time of complete rest for your fields and vineyards, so don't harvest anything they produce. 6-7However, you and your slaves and your hired workers, as well as any domestic or wild animals, may eat whatever grows on its own.

The Year of Celebration

The LORD said to his people: 8Once every forty-nine years 9on the tenth day of the seventh month, [a] which is also the Great Day of Forgiveness, [b] trumpets are to be blown everywhere in the land. 10This fiftieth year [c] is sacred--it is a time of freedom and of celebration when everyone will receive back their original property, and slaves will return home to their families. 11This is a year of complete celebration, so don't plant any seed or harvest what your fields or vineyards produce.

12 In this time of sacred celebration you may eat only what grows on its own. 13During this year, all property must go back to its original owner. 14-15So when you buy or sell farmland, the price is to be determined by the number of crops it can produce before the next Year of Celebration. Don't try to cheat. 16If it is a long time before the next Year of Celebration, the price will be higher, because what is really being sold are the crops that the land can produce. 17I am the LORD your God, so obey me and don't cheat anyone.

18-19 If you obey my laws and teachings, you will live safely in the land and enjoy its abundant crops. 20Don't ever worry about what you will eat during the seventh year when you are forbidden to plant or harvest. 21I will see to it that you harvest enough in the sixth year to last for three years. 22In the eighth year you will live on what you harvested in the sixth year, but in the ninth year you will eat what you plant and harvest in the eighth year.

1 耶 和 華 在 西 乃 山 對 摩 西 說 ： 2 你 曉 諭 以 色 列 人 說 ： 你 們 到 了 我 所 賜 你 們 那 地 的 時 候 ， 地 就 要 向 耶 和 華 守 安 息 。 3 六 年 要 耕 種 田 地 ， 也 要 修 理 葡 萄 園 ， 收 藏 地 的 出 產 。 4 第 七 年 ， 地 要 守 聖 安 息 ， 就 是 向 耶 和 華 守 的 安 息 ， 不 可 耕 種 田 地 ， 也 不 可 修 理 葡 萄 園 。 5 遺 落 自 長 的 莊 稼 不 可 收 割 ； 沒 有 修 理 的 葡 萄 樹 也 不 可 摘 取 葡 萄 。 這 年 ， 地 要 守 聖 安 息 。 6 地 在 安 息 年 所 出 的 ， 要 給 你 和 你 的 僕 人 、 婢 女 、 雇 工 人 ， 並 寄 居 的 外 人 當 食 物 。 7 這 年 的 土 產 也 要 給 你 的 牲 畜 和 你 地 上 的 走 獸 當 食 物 。

8 你 要 計 算 七 個 安 息 年 ， 就 是 七 七 年 。 這 便 為 你 成 了 七 個 安 息 年 ， 共 是 四 十 九 年 。 9 當 年 七 月 初 十 日 ， 你 要 大 發 角 聲 ； 這 日 就 是 贖 罪 日 ， 要 在 遍 地 發 出 角 聲 。

10 第 五 十 年 ， 你 們 要 當 作 聖 年 ， 在 遍 地 給 一 切 的 居 民 宣 告 自 由 。 這 年 必 為 你 們 的 禧 年 ， 各 人 要 歸 自 己 的 產 業 ， 各 歸 本 家 。 11 第 五 十 年 要 作 為 你 們 的 禧 年 。 這 年 不 可 耕 種 ； 地 中 自 長 的 ， 不 可 收 割 ； 沒 有 修 理 的 葡 萄 樹 也 不 可 摘 取 葡 萄 。 12 因 為 這 是 禧 年 ， 你 們 要 當 作 聖 年 ， 吃 地 中 自 出 的 土 產 。 13 這 禧 年 ， 你 們 各 人 要 歸 自 己 的 地 業 。 14 你 若 賣 甚 麼 給 鄰 舍 ， 或 是 從 鄰 舍 的 手 中 買 甚 麼 ， 彼 此 不 可 虧 負 。 15 你 要 按 禧 年 以 後 的 年 數 向 鄰 舍 買 ； 他 也 要 按 年 數 的 收 成 賣 給 你 。

16 年 歲 若 多 ， 要 照 數 加 添 價 值 ； 年 歲 若 少 ， 要 照 數 減 去 價 值 ， 因 為 他 照 收 成 的 數 目 賣 給 你 。 17 你 們 彼 此 不 可 虧 負 ， 只 要 敬 畏 你 們 的 　 神 ， 因 為 我 是 耶 和 華 ─ 你 們 的 　 神 。 18 我 的 律 例 ， 你 們 要 遵 行 ， 我 的 典 章 ， 你 們 要 謹 守 ， 就 可 以 在 那 地 上 安 然 居 住 。
19 地 必 出 土 產 ， 你 們 就 要 吃 飽 ， 在 那 地 上 安 然 居 住 。 20 你 們 若 說 ： 這 第 七 年 我 們 不 耕 種 ， 也 不 收 藏 土 產 ， 吃 甚 麼 呢 ？ 21 我 必 在 第 六 年 將 我 所 命 的 福 賜 給 你 們 ， 地 便 生 三 年 的 土 產 。 22 第 八 年 ， 你 們 要 耕 種 ， 也 要 吃 陳 糧 ， 等 到 第 九 年 出 產 收 來 的 時 候 ， 你 們 還 吃 陳 糧 。

Just a reminder that beginning from Mar 15, 2011, the class time is 6:42 to 9:30 p.m., which was determined by the class on the first day of classes (Mar 8, 2011), to make up for Apr 5 and Apr 26. The class leader Speedy already called those who were not present in the first class about it.
