Mathew 21:12~17 The Righteous Indignation of Jesus

(also in Mark 11:15-19; Luke 19:45-48; John 2:13-17)

Jesus in the Temple

12 Jesus went into the temple and chased out everyone who was selling or buying. He turned over the tables of the moneychangers and the benches of the ones who were selling doves. 13He told them, "The Scriptures say, `My house should be called a place of worship.' But you have turned it into a place where robbers hide."

14 Blind and lame people came to Jesus in the temple, and he healed them. 15But the chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses were angry when they saw his miracles and heard the children shouting praises to the Son of David. 16The men said to Jesus, "Don't you hear what those children are saying?"

"Yes, I do!" Jesus answered. "Don't you know that the Scriptures say, `Children and infants will sing praises'?" 17Then Jesus left the city and went out to the village of Bethany, where he spent the night.

12 耶 穌 進 了 神 的 殿 ， 趕 出 殿 裡 一 切 作 買 賣 的 人 ， 推 倒 兌 換 銀 錢 之 人 的 桌 子 ， 和 賣 鴿 子 之 人 的 凳 子 ； 13 對 他 們 說 ： 經 上 記 著 說 ： 我 的 殿 必 稱 為 禱 告 的 殿 ， 你 們 倒 使 他 成 為 賊 窩 了 。

14 在 殿 裡 有 瞎 子 、 瘸 子 到 耶 穌 跟 前 ， 他 就 治 好 了 他 們 . 。 15 祭 司 長 和 文 士 看 見 耶 穌 所 行 的 奇 事 ， 又 見 小 孩 子 在 殿 裡 喊 著 說 ： 和 散 那 歸 於 大 衛 的 子 孫 ！ 就 甚 惱 怒 ， 16 對 他 說 ： 這 些 人 所 說 的 ， 你 聽 見 了 麼 ？ 耶 穌 說 ： 是 的 。 經 上 說 你 從 嬰 孩 和 吃 奶 的 口 中 完 全 了 讚 美 的 話 ， 你 們 沒 有 念 過 麼 ？ 17 於 是 離 開 他 們 ， 出 城 到 伯 大 尼 去 ， 在 那 裡 住 宿 。

Build the Temple in Three Days (John 2:18-23 )

18 The Jewish leaders asked Jesus, "What miracle [a] will you work to show us why you have done this?" 19"Destroy this temple," Jesus answered, "and in three days I will build it again!" 20The leaders replied, "It took forty-six years to build this temple. What makes you think you can rebuild it in three days?"

21But Jesus was talking about his body as a temple. 22And when he was raised from death, his disciples remembered what he had told them. Then they believed the Scriptures and the words of Jesus.

Jesus Knows What People Are Like

23In Jerusalem during Passover many people put their faith in Jesus, because they saw him work miracles. [b]

a. John 2:18 miracle: The Greek text has " sign." In the Gospel of John the word " sign" is used for the miracle itself and as a way of pointing to Jesus as the Son of God.

b. John 2:23 from above: Or " in a new way." The same Greek word is used in verses 7,31.

約 翰 福 音 2:18-23

18 因 此 猶 太 人 問 他 說 ： 「 你 既 做 這 些 事 ， 還 顯 甚 麼 神 蹟 給 我 們 看 呢 ？ 」 19 耶 穌 回 答 說 ： 「 你 們 拆 毀 這 殿 ， 我 三 日 內 要 再 建 立 起 來 。 」 20 猶 太 人 便 說 ： 「 這 殿 是 四 十 六 年 才 造 成 的 ， 你 三 日 內 就 再 建 立 起 來 嗎 ？ 」 21 但 耶 穌 這 話 是 以 他 的 身 體 為 殿 。 22 所 以 到 他 從 死 裡 復 活 以 後 ， 門 徒 就 想 起 他 說 過 這 話 ， 便 信 了 聖 經 和 耶 穌 所 說 的 。 23 當 耶 穌 在 耶 路 撒 冷 過 逾 越 節 的 時 候 ， 有 許 多 人 看 見 他 所 行 的 神 蹟 ， 就 信 了 他 的 名 。
